AV1 is a royalty-free, open, next-generation video coding format developed by the Alliance for Open Media. AV1 is designed to enhance image quality and reduce bitrate compared to h264, h265, VP9, and HEVC. For viewers, AV1 delivers a richer user experience and reduced traffic costs.
